Readability is different from job match

A document can provide extractable text but still omit experience needed for a vacancy. It can also contain relevant experience whose dates or employers are difficult to associate. The first is a content question; the second can be a structure or extraction problem.

An ATS organizes a hiring workflow and may extract document fields. Products and employer configurations differ. A score produced by a consumer checker is not a universal ATS verdict.

Check the source document

Select text and copy it into a plain-text editor. Look for missing words, misplaced dates and unexpected reading order. Keep headings clear and role details connected. This is a diagnostic check, not proof of compatibility with every system.

Common extraction problems

Scanned pages, complex text boxes, unusual reading order and content placed only in graphics may create problems. Greenhouse documents unsuccessful parsing cases and accepts several formats, including PDF and DOCX. File support does not guarantee successful field extraction.

Relevant language without keyword stuffing

Describe tools and activities you actually used. If the employer uses a genuine equivalent term, making that term clear can help. Hidden keywords and qualifications you do not hold do not belong in an honest application.
